International Research Conference "1945 — Beginning of a New Order or Continuation of the Old One?"


On June 18, 2021, the International Research Conference "1945 — Beginning of a New Order or Continuation of the Old One?" took place online. It was organized by the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, as well as the Department of Ukrainian Studies of the School of Philosophy and the Ukrainian-Polish Academic Center for Science and Culture of Karazin University.

The Organizing Committee of the conference: from Adam Mickiewicz University — Professors Stanisław Jankowiak, Agnieszka Sawicz, and Piotr Okulewicz; from Karazin University — Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, School of Philosophy, Professor Dmytro Chornyi, and Head of the Ukrainian-Polish Academic Center for Science and Culture, Tetiana Bitkova.

Stanisław Jankowiak and Dmytro Chornyi welcomed the conference participants.

Professors of Adam Mickiewicz University Agnieszka Sawicz, Piotr Okulewicz, Marek Mikolajczyk, and licentiate Kacper Przysiecki made presentations. Poland was also represented by Piotr Koszczyński, Doctor of the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business.

The conference participants from Karazin University were Professor Oleksandr Buriak, Associate Professor Viacheslav Pototskyi, and postgraduate student Andrii Pikalo. Ukraine was also represented by Oleksandr Overchuk, Artistic Director of Maria Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater (Lviv).

The moderators of the two sections of the conference were Stanisław Jankowiak and Tetiana Bitkova.
