Meeting with Gold Medalist of the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo Maryna Lytovchenko

Maryna Lytovchenko, the gold medalist of the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo, visited Karazin University and met with the University President, Tetyana Kaganovska; the Chairman of the University Academic Board, Vil Bakirov; Vice-President Anatolii Babichev; Dean of the School of Sociology, Olena Muradyan.

Tetyana Kaganovska told how the whole University community supported Maryna and actively followed her participation in the Paralympics. She expressed admiration for the athlete’s victory, and added that Maryna has a University spirit. According to her, such people give inspiration and confidence that everything will be fine with Ukraine.

During the meeting, Maryna Lytovchenko told how she was preparing for the 2020 Paralympics, shared her emotions after the victory and gave advice to Karazin University athletes — she wished them self-confidence, perseverance, and confident steps towards their goal.

"My strength is the ability to abstract from the environment, to focus on the main goal. This is probably the most important thing. After all, you can always have a lot of training. But without these qualities, it is very difficult to really show everything you are capable of," said the athlete.

In addition, Maryna Lytovchenko gave the University a tennis ball with her autograph, with which the athlete played during the final match for gold. This gift from the champion will be kept in the University History Museum.

We are proud of Maryna’s victory, we wish her unshakable strength of spirit, good health and new successes!
