All-Ukrainian Event "Erasmus+ Days for Youth of Ukraine: Zoom Edition – SOUTH-EAST"


On April 26, 2021, Karazin University hosted the all-Ukrainian event “Erasmus+ Days for Youth of Ukraine: Zoom edition — SOUTH-EAST”.

The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine (EU project) together with the Erasmus Student Network Kyiv, with the support of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Eurodesk Ukraine, the Erasmus+ Youth Information Center and the European Solidarity Corps, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, other higher education institutions, and Erasmus Mundus program alumni.

During the presentation, the participants learned about the new EU Erasmus+ program for 2021-2027, discovered Erasmus+ opportunities focused on academic exchange programs for young people, faculty and staff of higher education institutions, master's programs and international volunteering.

Representatives of the Erasmus Student Network Kyiv community spoke about the Erasmus+ support network available to Ukrainian students while studying at European Union universities.

The second part of the event was dedicated to interactive communication of representatives of university international offices with students who want to participate in academic mobility programs and are interested in the conditions of studying under the Erasmus+ program.

The participants could choose the virtual space of the university, with the mobility programs of which they wanted to get acquainted. Every fourth participant of the event chose Karazin University and joined its virtual room out of 15 offered.

The second part of the event was opened by Vice-President Anatolii Babichev, who told about the achievements of Karazin University in implementing international projects, international academic mobility programs, and about broad prospects that the participants will receive if they choose to study at Karazin University.

The University’s academic mobility programs open for participation were presented in more detail by Oleksandr Khyzhniak, Head of the International Relations Office. In particular, he noted that Karazin University is constantly expanding the areas of international cooperation and increasing the number of bilateral cooperation agreements with European universities, which allows students to participate in academic exchanges under a large number of educational programs.

Yuliia Koval, Acting Head of the Department of International Programs and Academic Mobility of the International Relations Office, told about the procedure of preparing necessary documents and the selection of candidates for participation in academic mobility programs by the competition committee.

Successful graduates of Karazin University's academic mobility programs shared with those present practical advice on studying at European universities, told about the peculiarities of drawing up the necessary documents for going abroad and the procedure of awarding the earned credits after returning to Ukraine.

In particular, the School of Chemistry students Marharyta Blazhynska and Nadiia Zhutova spoke about the intricacies of passing the competition for the dual master's degree "Physical and Analytical Chemistry — Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry" at the University of Lille in France under the Erasmus+ double degree program.

Olha Bulhakova, a student of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, shared her unique educational and cultural experience gained during the semester at the School of Social and Cultural Sciences of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Germany) under the Erasmus+ KA107 credit mobility program.

Those present were keenly interested in the details of selecting participants for academic mobility programs, the requirements for candidates, the required level of academic performance and knowledge of foreign languages. The participants of the presentation also gained access to Karazin University information web resources on the opportunities of international academic mobility, and were invited to follow the updates on the official pages of social networks.
