University Graduation Ceremony 2020

A graduation ceremony has taken place at Karazin University. It was traditionally held at Mykola Lysenko Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

The event began with a performance of the modern symphony crossover orchestra “Prime Orchestra” and the Student Academic Choir “Ad Libitum”.

The University President, Vil Bakirov, addressed the graduates in his welcoming speech: “We are truly grateful to you for choosing Karazin University as the place of your professional and spiritual development. These festivities are part of a grand program of celebrating the University’s 215th anniversary. During this period, many generations of professors, faculty, students and graduates have glorified Karazin University with scientific discoveries, high cultural and spiritual achievements, work, selfless service to the University. And each of you in this hall is a contributor to this 215-year history. Because you have made your contribution: through hard and diligent studying, fruitful student research, active participation in cultural life, self-government, sports competitions, charity events. All this was added to the treasury of Karazin University’s achievements.”

The graduates were also congratulated by the owner and President of the DCH Group, a member of the Supervisory Board of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Karazin University Doctor Honoris Causa, Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi. He is a long-standing partner and patron of the University. In particular, thanks to his help, monuments to three Nobel laureates were erected, and the access to the online library of Oxford University Press was gained.

Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi wished the graduates to be healthy, accomplish new achievements and never lose contact with the University. "Everything is in your hands. And you have every opportunity in front of you,“ he added.

Anastasiia Kiian, a student of the School of Computer Sciences, spoke on behalf of the graduates, “We are very fortunate to have studied at one of Ukraine’s best universities. Here, we found true friends, gained invaluable life experience and knowledge. We are grateful to our instructors for their patience and willingness to find the right approach to everyone. On this day, we also want to express our gratitude to our parents who supported us when we needed it, rejoiced at our achievements, perhaps more than we did, and made every effort to bring up worthy people.”

The graduation ceremony continued with a performance of the modern symphony crossover orchestra “Prime Orchestra”.

This year, for the first time, specialists of 14 new academic majors got the University’s degree. Among them are Landscape Planning, Design and Land Management; Economic, Social Geography and Regional Development; Strategic Communications and New Media; Public Finance; International and European Economic Integration, and others.

In total, over 1,300 master’s degree holders of 75 academic majors have graduated from Karazin University. Honors degrees were awarded to 262 full-time and part-time graduates.

Congratulations to the graduates and wishes of a successful life path. May your most cherished dreams come true and all plans be fulfilled!
