Slavic Dimensions Club Meeting: Ukrainian Bulgarians Celebrate Holiday of Winegrowers


On February 14, 2020, Karazin University is holding a regular meeting of the Slavic Dimensions Club. This time it is dedicated to the holiday of winegrowers celebrated by Bulgarians of Ukraine.

Organizers: Cyril and Methodius Center of the Central Scientific Library, D. I. Bahalii Center for Ukrainian Studies, M. Drinov Center for Bulgarian and Balkan Studies, Department of Travel Business and Area Studies (School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business), "Ioann Rylskyi Charity Foundation".

Moderator: librarian Yoliana Strashniuk.

The meeting participants will be Head of the Department of Modern and Recent History, School of History, Mykhailo Stanchev; Associate Professor of the Department of Travel Business and Area Studies, School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, Natalia Aksenova.

The purpose of the event is to popularize the knowledge of Slavic ethnography, in particular to show a Bulgarian cultural tradition in Ukraine.

During the meeting, those present will discuss the roots of Trifon Zarezan Day, as it is called in Bulgaria, its traditions, some aspects of winemaking culture.
