"Making Good" Project of Karazin University and Anglia Ruskin University for the Creative Spark British Council Program: Call for Participation for First-Year Graduate Students

Karazin University together with Anglia Ruskin University (UK) has prepared the “Making Good” Project for the Creative Spark British Council Program.

The Creative Spark was founded in 2018 to support creative economy and to develop partnerships between Great Britain and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia) and Ukraine. This is a program of professional development of entrepreneurs in the field of culture.

The project of the Ukrainian-British team “Making Good” aims at developing knowledge of social entrepreneurship and counseling students on creating their own social business projects. Students will be able to develop, test and implement creative ideas.

Ukrainian and British universities are the “Making Good” implementing partners. They strive to develop interdisciplinary training modules to promote entrepreneurship skills development in students. As a result of successful implementation of the project, Karazin University and Anglia Ruskin University will launch training modules on preparing and managing creative projects, both with distance learning, and an interfaculty course on social entrepreneurship. During the first year of the project implementation, it is planned to develop and introduce the modules in the educational process of Karazin University.

Twenty-five University students will be selected on a competitive basis to participate in the project. The selection criteria are English language proficiency (not lower than A2 level) and a brief description of your own business idea in the field of creative industries.

The project participants will have access to the British Council’s online platform for business English, will have the opportunity to communicate in the English club and develop conversation skills, meet with experts on social entrepreneurship.

The final task of the first module is to implement a creative social project on the tasks of instructors, the second module is the development of a business plan for the implementation of one’s own project in creative industries.

Students who successfully defend their projects will receive certificates of Anglia Ruskin University (UK) and the opportunity to present social business projects at the international competition “Pitch Festival” in July 2019.

The mission of the project is to promote an effective implementation of business projects in creative industries. The project implementation period is November 2018 — July 2019.

The selection of the program participants will start on December 1, 2018.
