Fihurovka Sports Training and Rehabilitation Camp
Founded in 1957, the University’s sports training and rehabilitation camp Fihurovka is one of the oldest students’ camps in Ukraine.
The camp is located in a picturesque area of the Kharkiv region on the bank of the Seversky Donets. It welcomes students, lecturers, staff members, and their families. Clean air, clear water, and a pine forest are ideal for rehabilitation after a year of hard academic work in the industrial Kharkiv.
Accommodation in summer houses or two-storey cottages is available for 150 guests simultaneously. The camp uses water from an artesian well.
There are facilities for playing foot-ball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, ping-pong, chess, checkers, etc. Table games and other entertainments are available for families with children.
Guests can play billiards, attend bridge courses, and take part in bridge competitions.
The camp organizes walking tours and boating excursions to picturesque parts of the Chuhuiv distruct and to the museum of the famous painter Illya Repin who was born in Chuhuiv.
The camp has a beach and a boating station of its own on the bank of the Seversky Donets, where guests can go rowing or fishing.
During the summer season the camp can accommodate over 500 guests. University students and staff members are offered special discounts.
According to the camp reconstruction plan, the University administration and union committees annually renovate and landscape the camp premises and build new facilities to offer a better service.
