The University has always been focusing on further education, efficient faculty re-training, and cooperation with the leading universities in Ukraine and abroad. It was for this purpose that the School of Professional Re-Training was created in 1967 and later reorganized into the School of Further Education.

The principal activities of the School include organization of:

– professional development opportunities for the University research and academic staff;

– traineeship and individual training for the academic staff of other higher educational institutions at all the University Departments;

– academic re-training for university graduates. Since 1999, 337 trainees have become its graduates and obtained a second degree in Economics;

– professional re-training for business executives and managers. According to the agreement between the State Committee on regulation of the markets of financial services of Ukraine and V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University they cooperate in teaching, re-training and competence building of specialists in financial markets. In this respect, the School provides long-term professional development courses for chief accountants and executives of insurance companies; short-term professional development courses for specialists in financial monitoring of insurance companies, pawnshops, credit unions, and non-state pension funds.

Since 2005, 198 persons have obtained their further education within these programs.
