University Students Won Gold Medals at the European Cheerleading Championship


On July 5-7, 2019, Heidelberg (Germany) hosted the European Cheerleading Championship. At the competition, the national combined team of Ukraine, mainly consisting of the Karazin University students, first won gold medals in two team nominations: “Cheer Dance” and “Pom Dance” at once.

The two-time champions of the competition are Uliana Zanochkina and Aliona Nikonova (School of Psychology), Hanna Muravska (School of Computer Sciences), Anastasiia Akulova (School of Law), Valeryiia Papakina (School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business), Nataliia Kurtova (School of Chemistry) and Yuliia Hundar (School of Mathematics and Informatics). And Yelyzaveta Kyrylova (School of Computer Science) was awarded with a gold medal.

In the duet competitions, Anastasiia Akulova and Yelyzaveta Herasymenko, a student of Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, won silver medals in the nomination “Cheer Dance Double”.

Nadiia Avdasova, Senior Instructor at the Department of Physical Training and Sports, beat the gold medal in the nomination “Masters Pom Dance Double”.
