University Graduate Andrii Afanasiev Appointed Director of the US-Ukraine Nuclear Education Center
The Department of Physics of George Washington University, in collaboration with Virginia Polytechnic University, received initial funding from the US Department of Energy to develop curricula for the Nuclear Education Center to train Ukrainian citizens in nuclear science and technology at the Master’s degree level.
The purpose of the new center is to facilitate the exchange of teachers between the United States and Ukraine, as well as to promote training and developing nuclear science and technology programs. In addition to the participation in seminars and summer workshops, Ukrainian students will have the opportunity to join existing doctoral programs in nuclear science and technology offered by George Washington University and Virginia Polytechnic University.
The project director is the Professor of George Washington University, graduate of Karazin University School of Physics and Technology Andrii Afanasiev.
