Delegation from Xinxiang, People's Republic of China, Visits Karazin University


A delegation from the Chinese city of Xinxiang visited Karazin University. The delegation included the Senior Counselor of the Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Zhang Guowei, the Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Li Liang, the Director of the Municipal Foreign Affairs and Tourism Bureau, Ms. Kui Hong, the Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Ms. Liu Meilin, the Director of the Municipal Education Bureau, Mr. Li Sugo, the Director of the Administrative Committee of the Xinxiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Mr. Guo Peishan.

The delegation met with the Vice-President, Viktor Katrych, the Head of the International Relations Department, Oleksandr Khyzhniak, the Head of the International Activity Organization of the International Relations Department, Oleksandr Fadieiev, the Dean of the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems, Serhii Shulha, the Head of the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics and Complex Information Technologies, Serhii Berdnyk.

“Xinxiang is the central region of China with a total population of over six million. In our city, there are ten higher education institutions, including a pedagogical university, a ‘classical’ university, and an agricultural university teaching 230,000 students,” said Zhang Guowei in his introductory speech. He acquainted those present with the peculiarities of Xinxiang city. He also expressed interest in future cooperation with Karazin University, in particular in science and technology.

Viktor Katrych told about Karazin University and its achievements. The Vice-President pointed out that the Alma Mater is recognized by authoritative rankings not only in Ukraine, but also in the world. Thus, in this year’s QS World University Rankings, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University ranks 481st, which is the best result among Ukrainian higher education institutions.

During the presentation of the University’s scientific achievements, Viktor Katrych said that the University conducts research in all priority areas of science. In particular, scientists are interested in nanophysics, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, nuclear physics and energy, plasma physics, nuclear safety, radiophysics and electronics, biophysics, astronomy, medical physics, medical materials science, chemistry, environmental monitoring and safety, mathematics, information and telecommunication technologies, devices and systems, humanitarian technologies and models of development of intellectual capital and socio-economic societies.

At the end, the guests visited the University History Museum and the Quantum Biology and Quantum Medicine Research Laboratory.
