Karazin University Alumnus Yevgen Kazakov Receives a Prize from American Physical Society

Yevgen Kazakov, an alumnus of the School of Physics and Technology (2007), has received the Landau-Spitzer Prize from the American Physical Society.

The prize was granted “For experimental verification through joint experiments of a novel and highly effective scenario of ion cyclotron plasma heating and the formation of energy ions in magnetic thermonuclear fusion devices” (a group consisting of 4 people — Doctors Jozef Ongena, John Wright, Stephen Wukitch and Yevgen Kazakov).

Currently, Yevgen Kazakov is a leading scientific researcher at the Laboratory for Plazma Physics of the Ecole Royale Militaire — Koninklijke Militaire School (LPP-ERM/KMS) in Brussels (Belgium).

For reference.  The Landau-Spitzer Prize is given to an individual or a group of researchers for outstanding theoretical, experimental or technical contribution(s) in plasma physics, and for advancing the collaboration and unity between the European Union (EU) and the United States of America (USA) by joint research, or research that advances knowledge which benefits the EU and USA communities in a unique way.
