Nataliia Chepiha, a Graduate of the School of Physics and Technology, Defends her Thesis in Switzerland

Nataliia Chepiha, a graduate of the Department of Theoretical Nuclear Physics of the School of Physics and Technology of Karazin University, has defended her thesis “Dimerization and Exotic Criticality in Spin-S Chains” at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (Switzerland).

In her thesis, Nataliia described the method of obtaining the energy spectrum of broken states in the critical systems while the ground state is numerically known. The success of the method lies in the fact that the excited states of the system are calculated “free”, i. e. without additional expenses of the estimated time.

Her scientific work is recognized as one of the best among the defended papers at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne in 2017.

Congratulations to Nataliia on her achievement! May further success attend!

For reference. The Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne is a research institute and a university in Lausanne (Switzerland) specializing in natural and technical specialities. It holds high positions in international rankings. In particular, by the results of QS World University Rankings—2019, it took the 22nd place.
