Volodymyr Vovk’s Art Exhibition “Our Land is Kharkiv Switzerland”
Karazin University is holding Volodymyr Vovk’s personal art exhibition “Our Land is Kharkiv Switzerland”.
Zmiiv’s unique natural resources have become an inexhaustible source of Volodymyr Vovk’s creativity. The Ukrainian landscape painter is enamored of the Ukrainian nature and has turned ordinary peasant motifs into vivid works of painting.
Venue: lobby of the Central Scientific Library, 8th floor, University Main Building, 4 Svobody Sq.
The exhibition is open for visitors till September 20, 2018.
For reference. Volodymyr Vovk was born on June 17, 1937 in Zmiiv of Kharkiv region. In 1961, he graduated from Moscow People’s University of Arts. For many years he worked as an artist-designer in Kharkiv Art and Industrial Complex.
He is currently working in the field of classical landscape and portrait painting and artistic graphics. The works were exhibited at specialized exhibitions of Kharkiv and Zmiiv. In particular, the cycle “Kharkiv Switzerland” is devoted to depicting the picturesque corners of Zmiiv region: Gomilshansky natural park, floodplains of the Donets river, suburbs, reservoirs in Cheremushne, Zadonetske, Haidary, Zidky, Butivka, Mokhnach.
