International Economic Relations Department

History

The department was founded in Kharkiv University in 1998. First, it had the name "International Economics and International Economic Relations", later, with the opening of the specialty "Tourism", it was renamed the Department of International Economic Relations, geography and tourism. With the establishment of the department of international economic relations and tourism business, the Department of International Economic Relations and tourism business based on it were created. At the department there is a post-graduate course and the Centre for International Humanitarian Cooperation and international relations in the region. Founder and Chair - Honored Worker of Science and Technology, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine - Ph.D. (Geography), full professor, A.P. Golikov.

Applicant’s Information

Over the past 15 years the Department has prepared hundreds of professionals who are successfully working in various fields of science and industry, among them citizens of China, Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Israel, Morocco, Jordan and Turkey were educated, got post-graduate degrees and passed their theses.

Education is under contract and funded from the budget of the state. Learning is full-time and part-time.

During training boys have an opportunity to receive military training, after which they receive the title of reserve officers, the girls receive a health education of a nurse.

Scope of graduates: departments of foreign economic relations companies, travel agencies, trade missions abroad, customs, diplomatic and consular service. If you wish to continue training excellent students can pass exams to graduate school.

There is department for postgraduate studies "World Economy and International Economic Relations". Over the past 5 years more than 10 graduate students and applicants of the department have passed their theses . Today the department is training six graduate students.

The department carries out the state budget theme: "Cross-Border Cooperation Between Ukraine and Russia: status, trends and prospects." It is the initiator of the first Russian-Ukrainian euroarea «Sloboghanshchina».

At the department operates student scientific society. For the past 5 years, staff of Department in conjunction with

students, published 40 articles. In total over the past 5 years, members of the department published over 100 articles, 24 monographs and participated in 108 conferences devoted current issues in international economic relations, economics, cross-border cooperation, the Department organized 12 scientific conferences.

On April 17, 2010 the Department organized and conducted regular international scientific-practical conference «Ukrainian-Russian Frontier: status and prospects of cooperation."

Special courses for masters in international economic relations: global macro-economic policy, theoretical seminar "Actual problems of the world economy and INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC RELATIONS», Ukraine in the system of world economic relations, regulation FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY, regional development strategy: a European context, the international currency and stock markets, modern infrastructure of the world, intellectual property, innovation economy, derivative securities, the European integration.

Over the past 5 years the Department has developed 23 textbooks and teaching aids for high school and Dictionary of international economic terms.

Terms of training and state certification

Duration of training for the educational-professional program "Bachelor is 4 years, with the educational and professional programs of specialist and master is 1 year. To obtain the educational and qualification degrees of bachelor students hold a test state examination in the specialty of international economic relations, which includes the following disciplines: economics and mathematical modeling of global economic processes, international economic relations, theory and practice of foreign trade and global finance.

Requirements for university entrants

The reception of documents is conducted from July 1 to July 31.

The documents that are necessary for entering the department (Educational Qualification Level – Bachelor):

  • application for entering the university;
  • document of the state standard about the previously received educational level and the annex, originals or certified copies;
  • certificates of Ukrainian Centre of the Assessment of Quality of Education (originals or certified copies), given in the current year;
  • medical certificate in due form (086-О);
  • six photographs 3х4 cm;
  • four envelopes with Ukrainian stamps.
  • A person should have on oneself: Passport (Birth certificate for persons who don’t have passport because of the age), Military ID (certificate about the registration to enlistment office), original of the document about education (when giving its copy), originals of certificates, identification code (original and copy) and the documents that give the right to benefits.
