The Department of Political Sociology was created in 2005.
The Department trains specialists on the specialty “Sociology” (Bachelor’s, Specialist’s, Masters’s qualification level).
Department Areas of Specialism: Political Sociology, Political Marketing and Political Consulting.
Department graduates with Specialist's and Master's degrees are awarded the qualifications of sociologists and teachers of Sociology.
Department’s graduates work in such spheres as national government bodies and municipal administrations; local self-governments; political parties; NGOs (charitable foundations, public organizations); centers for the studying of the public opinion, research institutions dealing with social and political issues; universities and high schools; marketing services, and etc.
According to the agreement on cooperation between the Department and the Department of Domestic Policy of Kharkiv Regional State Administration signed in 2005, the Department’s students undergo continuing internship at the bodies of Regional State Administration (students begin taking part in the internship program since 3rd year of their studies).
The Department is chaired by Professor Volodymyr Evtukh, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Professor Volodymyr Evtukh is a Director of the Institute of Sociology, Psychology and Management and Chair of the Department of the Theory and Methodology of Sociology at Mykhaylo Dragomanov National Pedagogical University in Kyiv.
