For abiturients

A lot of specialists were graguated from the department. They successfully work in different branches of science, high education and production. Many graduates of our department had post-graduate study and obtained PhD and doctoral degrees. Then they continued work in Ukraine and other countries (USA, Israel, Austria, Switzerland, Tunisia, Russia and so on). Besides, some of them have positions in secondary schools and several commercial structures. On the department the post-graduate studentship exists for the specialities “mathematical analysis”, “differential equations”, “mathematical physics”. During last years on the department 2 doctoral thesis and 5 PhD thesis were defended.

Research

Main directions of the research are the following:

  • theory of subharmonic functions (Professor A. P. Grishin);
  • operator theory, theory of functions and interpolation problems of analysis (Professor V. K. Dubovoy);
  • mathematical problems in the kinetic theory (Professor V. D. Gordevskyy);
  • the distribution theory of meromorphic functions (Professor I. I. Marchenko);
  • sistem theory and scattering theory (Associate Professor S. S. Boiko);
  • Problems of stabilization. Mathematical control problem. Differential equations (Associate Professor G. A. Bessonov);
  • functional analysis (Associate Professor S. L. Gefter);
  • boundary value problems for PDEs (Associate Professor A. A. Makarov);
  • delay differential equations, asymptotic behavior of solutions of PDEs (Associate Professor A. V. Rezounenko);
  • control theory and boundary value problems for PDEs (Associate Professor L. V. Fardigola).

In whole during 2005-2009 years members of the department published more than 57 articles and took part in 39 conferences devoted to actual questions in aboveremembered branches of mathematics. Scientists of the department have meaningfull many-years connections with leading foreign specialists in mathematics (Germany, USA, Israel, Russia, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Chech Republick, Switzerland, Poland etc.).

Teaching

The department provides exposition of basic courses “mathematical analysis”, “differential equations” for students of such faculties as mechanics and mathematics, phylological, computer sciences.

Special cources for baccalaureates: "Elements of stability theory and equations with retarded arguments", "Special chapters of operator theory", "Fractals, fractals measures and random processes", "Distributions", "Stabilizability problem for systems of differential equations with control".

Special cources for magisters: "Harmonic analysis", "Distributions of values of meromorphic functions", "Approximate solutions of Boltzmann equation", " Increase of entire and meromorphic functions".

During last 5 years (2005-2009) on the department 11 text-books and methodical instructions for the high school were worked out, and a lot of individual tests and control tasks were prepared.
